My ugly white pedestal needed a new lease on life, or a trip to the dump,
So I get out my grey paint,
Next, I added a darker pewter grey in a sweeping dry-brush technique,
Careful to let the lighter grey peek through.
Next I added a coat of distressing crackle medium, normally used with rubber stamp projects. ( I hope the "Evil Genius", Tim Holtz, appreciates my random uses of his products).
The Ranger Crackle goes on thick and dries very quickly...perfect for "Miss Patience".
The effects speak for themselves...instant antiquity.
Another lighter layer...
A final touch of antique gold and...
a half hour later, the pedestal is finished, dry, and no longer headed to the landfill.
Very nice. Would not have given that crackle medium a thought, but the look you achieved with it is terrific. I'll have to check it out.

I'm apparently running a bit behind here! Hadn't seen this post! I think it looks wonderful. I've had a "thing" for gray lately myself.
